What We Do & Why We're Different

There are so many martial arts/self defense options out there, here are some ways we differ:

Our instruction ( other than our "Safe Families" training) is developed for the adolescent/adult learner. We not only train you how to protect yourself...we teach you  how to win life and death situations - and we don't do birthday parties!

We are not affiliated with, nor affix ourselves to, any particular martial art or style. Martial arts are sport -- they do not translate effectively to life or death survival situations.

We will not waste your time teaching you blocks or any other physically defensive maneuvers - although our name is "Self Defense Solutions" we have evolved to believe if you engage in the process of "defense", you're already behind. We promote an offensive approach to self protection focused on winning a violent encounter using the tools of violence, within the parameters set forth through Colorado Use of Force statutes.

Our focus is less on technique (although you will learn effective means of attacking certain areas) and much more on targets on the human body that can be attacked to end the attack on you.  Focusing on technique limits your ability to take action - focusing on targets amplifies your certain opportunities to attack and win.

Our active training scenarios are constantly evolving.  With being an active law enforcement officer, involved in a multitude of criminal investigations, including assaults, sexual assaults, kidnappings and homicides, the situations encountered by others in real life events are transformed into training scenarios for our students.  No other organization offers you this level of training based on real life events.

If you are a corporation or large group within Colorado we  come to your site and provide our training - you will not find us in a mall or Wal Mart!  We bring our team to you!
